Red Bull Salzburg: This team is one of the more exciting teams to watch because of how many goals they score. The question is now, can they have that same type of success against the big boys? Marsch has this team playing with a ton of confidence and they truly believe they can go into Anfield and not just get a result like a draw, but they feel deep down that they can win. They aren’t going to play more defensive. They are going to, as Marsch told me, try to impose their will.
Champions League holders Liverpool will hope to bounce back from their opening Group E defeat to Napoli when they host Salzburg at Anfield tonight.

The Reds are heavy favourites to return to winning ways on the European stage, but Jurgen Klopp insists there is no room for complacency.

The visitors play a similar brand of football to Klopp’s Liverpool, while their 19-year-old striker Erling Haaland became the third-youngest player to net a Champions League hat-trick in their 6-2 win over Genk in their opening group game.
Having begun their Champions League season with defeat in Naples, Liverpool are looking to get back on track as they look to defend their crown.

Salzburg are their opponents, with the Austrians travelling to Anfield on the back of an excellent Champions League opener, Belgian side Genk dismissed emphatically 6-2.

Erling Haaland notched a hat-trick in that game, and appears to be over a bout of illness and could start on Merseyside.

Salzburg have plenty of forward threat, and it could be a high-scoring affair, though Liverpool will be confident after seven successive Premier League victories to start the season.
Reigning champions Liverpool have started the defence of their Champions League title in rather inauspicious fashion.

Group E looks an open-and-shut case on paper, with Jurgen Klopp’s men and Napoli far more proficient than Champions League newcomers Red Bull Salzburg and Genk when it comes to playing at an elite level.

And yet, you still want to get off to a good start no matter who your opponents are.

Liverpool were well below par in their opener in Naples, and while Napoli themselves weren’t at their best they did just about enough to claim a 2-0 victory, with a controversial penalty put away by Dries Mertens followed by a second from Fernando Llorente.

Like we say, it’s early days in Champions League 2019/20 and there’s still 15 points up for grabs to each team. But Liverpool won’t want to come out of this clash with Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield on October 2 without a win.

Now, football bettors who don’t follow the beautiful game in all corners of the continent might be thinking that the English team have got a simple job in front of them here.

Liverpool can get their Champions League defence back on track when they host Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.

The Reds opened their European campaign with a 2-0 defeat at Napoli two weeks ago but have not lost a game at Anfield since September 2018, winning all three of their Premier League games there this season.

Their Austrian opponents will not be pushovers, though. Jesse Marsch’s side trounced Genk 6-2 in their first ever Champions League group stage match, and have scored 40 goals in just nine league games this term.
Liverpool will be hoping to collect their first points in this season’s Champions League when they welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Anfield on Wednesday night.

A late showing from Napoli saw the Reds defeated 2-0 as Group E got underway, Dries Mertens and Fernando Llorente scoring to the delight of the Stadio San Paolo crowd. In domestic matters, however, Jurgen Klopp’s recruits have been immaculate.

Dries Mertens
Georginio Wijnaldum’s fortunate winner at Sheffield United took Liverpool to 16 straight Premier League victories, of which seven have come at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Salzburg were triumphant in their first pool stage game, Erling Håland grabbing a hat-trick in their 6-2 destruction of Belgian side Genk.
Similar to last season, Liverpool suffered a 2-0 loss to Napoli at Stadio San Paolo in their Champions League opener, meaning that Jurgen Klopp’s troops are desperate to get back on course. The Reds are likely to go all guns blazing at Salzburg on Wednesday evening and we predict that they are going to pick up vital three points from their first home game of the process.

As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Mohamed Salah, whilst Sadio Mane is likely to recover in time to face Salzburg. The Austrian champions rolled over Genk 6-2 on their debut in the Champions League group stages, but they face an uphill task in Wednesday’s football match against the star-studded English club. Liverpool recorded seven wins in previous eight home games in the elite competition, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.

Another impressive player who emigrated to Switzerland, Xherdan Shaqiri is a midfielder with excellent technical qualities, very strong in taking players on and creating chances for his teammates, while also being a danger from set pieces. The Serbian-born footballer formed an excellent midfielder pairing with Granit Xhaka at FC Basel, before making a high-profile move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2012.

Shaqiri went on to prove a great deal of potential at Allianz Arena, scoring 11 goals in 52 Bundesliga matches, but he decided to leave in search of first team football, first joining Inter Milan and then moving to Stoke City. It was at Britannia Stadium that the attacking midfielder rediscovered his form and if he continues playing at such a high level, it won’t be long before he returns to the biggest stage.

Even when he was not playing regularly at club level, Shaqiri would always reserve his best performances for the national team, as witnessed by 17 goals in first 50 caps. The midfielder was especially impressive at the 2014 World Cup finals, where he scored no fewer than three goals.

HIGHLIGHTED TEAM (SALZBURG):
Salzburg
Salzburg are a professional football club that compete in Austrian Bundesliga. The club’s main sponsors are Red Bull and, as a result, they are well known under the name of the Red Bulls. The club was founded on 13 September, 1933 and they won their first Austrian Bundesliga trophy in 1994.

Salzburg quickly established themselves as the dominant force in the national championship and they are the most successful Austrian club in the 21st century. It has to be noted that they won their tenth Austrian Premier League trophy in 2016, finishing the season nine points clear of second-placed Rapid Wien.

The Red Bulls welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena, the stadium that was opened on 8 March, 2008. The capacity of the venue is 31 895. Salzburg participated in the 1993/1994 UEFA Cup final, but Italian side proved to be a big catch for the Austrian outfit. Inter recorded a 2-0 win over Salzburg in the final (on aggregate).

Liverpool: The Reds just had one of those games where nothing seemed to go right and the ball just wouldn’t go in … until it did thanks to a goalkeeper blunder in the 1-0 win at Sheffield United this weekend. They’ll feel good about returning to their goal-scoring ways in this one against a defense that is strong but certainly beatable. Their opponent has conceded in five straight games, allowing two goals in three of them.

Barcelona vs Inter Live

Barcelona vs Inter Live :: Barcelona and Inter Milan meet in arguably the top matchup of Matchday 2 in the Champions League in Spain on Wednesday. Barca settled for a scoreless draw at Borussia Dortmund in the opener, while Inter was surprisingly held to a point at home to Slavia Prague in the opening match of the group stage. The winner here will set themselves up nicely for the final four matches of the group stage, while a draw doesn’t do a whole lot for either in search of advancing to the last 16.

Barcelona: League wins over Villarreal and Getafe has Barcelona back in a bit of a groove. It’ll be interesting to see how Lionel Messi plays as he’s expected to return from a groin injury. Barca has been more consistent in defense, but in the middle of the field a lack of shape has caused trouble. Against an organized Inter team, they are going to have to play wise and limit chances on the counter.

Inter Milan: First place in Serie A with Romelu Lukaku playing well, they also just got two goals from Alexis Sanchez last weekend, as the Chilean is set to face his former club. This Inter team has conceded just three goals in seven games this season, and one of the big differences has been the addition of star centerback Diego Godin.
Barcelona host Inter Milan at the Nou Camp to bring back memories of their famous tie from 2010.

Jose Mourinho’s Nerazzurri pulled off the unthinkable and denied the Blaugrana a mini dynasty of three successive Champions League titles.

The compelling second leg saw Gerard Pique set up a thrilling finish, with 10-man Inter surviving after Thiago Motta’s red card following Sergio Busquets’ theatrics.

Now with Antonio Conte in charge and building a new side, Inter’s start to their European campaign was disastrous, having failed to win at home to Slavia Prague.
Barca did avoid disaster in their opener against Dortmund. They had been taken to the verge though. If not for the heroics of their goalkeeper, Marc Ander Ter Stegen, the Spanish outfit would have had to bow their heads in German soil.

At a crucial juncture in the tie, the shot-stopper stepped up and calmly did his job against the incoming Marco Reus’s penalty, which in all probability would have resulted in Dortmund registering three points.

Considering that Group F is unanimously tipped to be the toughest, each and every point matter by a whole degree.

With just two qualification spots, and the likes of Inter, Dortmund, and Inter battling it out for the two tickets, race is tipped to get intense in the following match-days.

Ernesto Valverde’s men will have to make the most of this fixture, considering that the venue is Camp Nou. The struggles on the road of his cavalry are well known these days, and teams nowadays are deliberately targeting this weakness.

But for sure the job would not be easy. Antonio Conte’s men have been the best in Italy so far this season. They have even overtaken the mighty Juventus in the points-table.

The arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku have strengthened their attacks, and under the guidance of Conte, they have started to thrive.

With the hosts facing a lot of injuries, it would surely be interesting to see how the fixture would turn out.
Their 100% record leaves them top of Serie A, while pressure continues to build on Barca boss Ernesto Valverde following what has been a shaky start for the Catalan club in La Liga. But neither side managed to earn the results they were looking for on the opening matchday of the Champions League group stage.

A missed Marco Reus penalty left Barcelona somewhat fortunate to earn a point at the Signal Iduna Park, while I Nerazzurri stumbled to a surprise draw against Czech league leaders Slavia Prague.

Here’s everything you need to know as both sides aim for their first victories of the 2019/20 Champions League.
While Barça are struggling to be at their best with so many lineup changes due to injury and questionable coaching, Inter have exploded out of the gate winning all six opening matches in Serie A and conceding just three goals in all competitions during the first two months of the season. Antonio Conte has been as impactful as expected, and his players look very comfortable in the new 3-5-2 system that is very tough to break down at the back and tough to stop up front.

Inter will be without star striker Romelu Lukaku who has played very well so far, but Alexis Sánchez will return to Camp Nou one more time alongside Lautaro Martínez, a relatively short but incredibly dangerous strike partnership that will cause all sorts of problems for the Barça defense. Inter’s midfield has also been very strong, with Marcelo Brozovic and especially new signing Stefano Sensi dominating that area of the pitch in every game they’ve played together this season.

Despite a spectacular start to their domestic season, Inter drew against Slavia Prague at home in their first Champions League match, so they need at least a point at Camp Nou since this is the Group of Death and every result counts. Barça need to be precise, solid and clinical, and a great performance is necessary to win this one.

If Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembélé, who were medically cleared to play in this one, are available at least for a second half cameo then Barça’s chances will improve. If they don’t play and Barça can’t out-talent Inter, this one will come down to coaching. And it’s safe to say Inter have a big advantage there.

They face Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday and champions Juventus in Serie A on Sunday.

“I am a coach who always gives a precise idea of football to his team,” said Conte.

“I seem to set the trend in tactics. My football has always been organised, we have an idea and work hard on a range of scenarios.

“All our performances this season have shown quality and organisation, but mentality makes the difference in getting out of tricky situations.”

Inter have not win the league or European Cup since 2010, when they claimed the Treble under Jose Mourinho.

They beat Sampdoria 2-1 in the league on Sunday, despite playing most of the second half with 10 men after Alexis Sanchez’s sending off.

Conte, who took over in the summer, added: “We must now press the reset button, focus on Barcelona at Camp Nou.

“We’re getting into the right frame of mind, but we sill have to grow a lot. We are newborns in this project.”

Quiz: Who has played for Barcelona & Inter Milan?
Griezmann admits ‘difficulties’ after move
La Liga champions Barcelona have lost two of their opening seven games in the league and were held 0-0 by Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League opener.

France’s World Cup-winning striker Antoine Griezmann, signed from Atletico Madrid for £107m, has three goals in his first eight games.

He said: “It’s different. It’s a different type of football, a different position and I knew it was going to be difficult to adjust.

“But I feel like I’m improving every game. Three goals, it’s not bad, right? I can do better but I just arrived. I work for the team and if I can score or assist, even better.”

Best of the stats
Barcelona have lost only once in their past nine games against Inter Milan (W4 D4 L1), at the San Siro in April 2010.
Inter Milan have lost on five of their six visits to Barcelona, winning the other 2-1 in January 1970 in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Barcelona have won 29 of their past 32 Champions League games at home, with their last defeat being 3-0 against Bayern Munich in May 2013.
Barca forward Lionel Messi has been directly involved in 15 goals in his past 17 Champions League appearances against Italian teams (12 goals, three assists). However, Messi has never scored against Inter in the competition in three games.

Barcelona have failed to score in their past two Champions League matches – they have never gone three games without a goal in the competition. They last failed to score in three European games in a row in March 1988 in the Uefa Cup.

An Italian manager has not won at the Nou Camp in the Champions League since April 2003, when Marcello Lippi won 2-1 with Juventus in the quarter-finals, with current Inter boss Antonio Conte an unused sub that night.

As has been the way so far with the fancied teams, New Zealand look set to rotate their squad for their second World Cup match. The most intriguing line-up change will see siblings Scott, Beauden and Jordie Barrett all start for the All Blacks. Remarkable as that is, its not the first time a trio of brothers have started a World Cup match – Tonga’s Fe’ao, Elisi and Manu Vunipola were all on the same side against Scotland in 1995.

Canada had plenty of chances that they failed to take against Italy in their opening game and ended up getting thrashed. Unfortunately for them, New Zealand will be even less forgiving today

One of the last teams to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Canada’s reward is a matchup against the All Blacks. Here is everything you need to know on the contest.

What They Said

New Zealand Coach – Steve Hansen

In a World Cup that has seen some shocks already, Hansen acknowledged the All Blacks will be looking to avoid that saying; “If you disrespect the opponent you’re playing you’ll get a punch on the nose, we did that in Perth. We can’t afford to do that again.

“Our aim is to win the next two pool matches against Canada and Namibia, as well as continuing to grow our game and manage the workload across the group. With two games four days apart, it’s obvious that we need to use our whole squad.

Our main focus is just to keep improving on our performance. That means we keep creating those opportunities that we did against Italy, but this time we just want to finish them.

“Playing against the best team in the world is a great opportunity for us to really challenge ourselves and a big result for us would be if we can improve on our performance from Italy.

“You just got to acknowledge who you’re playing against and that’s the main thing and then after that, concentrate on yourself, on your own performance, on the team performance.

France vs United States Live

France vs United States Live :: Despite winning their opening game 23-21 against Argentina, France have made a whopping 12 changes to their starting XV after only just avoiding defeat with Pumas fullback Emiliano Boffelli missing a last-minute penalty. Camille Lopez, who landed the match-winning drop goal, comes in at first five-eighth.

France and the United States play their second match of the Rugby World Cup in Pool C and a nearby typhoon is likely to make for wet and wild conditions at the Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium.

Watch Rugby World Cup 2019 Live

England top their pool with a maximum 10 points and France would take a giant step towards a ninth successive World Cup quarterfinal appearance should they record a bonus-point win over the USA as expected.

The USA were thumped 45-7 by England in their first game but they showed plenty of heart and determination against a far superior side and the weather in Fukuoka could even out a contest the flaky French are expected to win comfortably. The two nations have played eight tests – the last in 2004 – and once at a World Cup in 2003 in Australia when France won 41-14, while the USA recorded one win (17-3) over Les Bleus in the final of the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.
France vs USA Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

France can build on their opening 2019 Rugby World Cup victory with another against the USA at the Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium. It will be a huge shock if they don’t manage to beat the USA, but rain and the need to rest key individuals could bring the score closer than many believe.

France Form & Team News

France came through a bruising encounter to beat Argentina 23-21 at the Tokyo Stadium in their opening fixture. This match against the USA offers the only real opportunity for France to rest players ahead of the knockouts should they qualify.

Unfortunately on the injury front things are not looking positive for the French side. Prop Demba Bamba and centre Wesley Fofana have both been put on a plane home with injury ruling them out of the tournament.

Reports suggest France are expected to make a few changes while more will be rested against Tonga next week. France have blown hot and cold throughout their history and did so again against Argentina, almost throwing away a solid first half lead.

They will be too strong for the USA but the North Americans will be physical in what looks like a wet weather match. Should the forecast be correct, points scoring won’t be easy and France don’t have the physicality to overpower USA like England eventually managed to do.

Les Blues are outright favourites at 1.015 while they can be backed at 2.00 to cover the -27 handicap. A draw will pay 51.00.

France vs argentina rugby world cup

USA Form & Team News

The USA will most likely field a full-strength side against France with their next match a week later. There have been no reports of serious injury following their 47-7 defeat to England at the Kobe Misaka Stadium.

Head coach Gary Gold was not too despondent with the opening showing of the USA. They matched the English physically for large parts but ran out of steam the longer the game went on. Against France they will face a far lesser physical challenge so I expect them to perform better with ball in hand.

There is a high probability of heavy rain for Fukuoka City on Wednesday with Typhoon Mitag heading for the city. While the Typhoon may miss the city itself, heavy rain is almost guaranteed which leads me to believe it will be a low scoring match.

The USA can be backed to cause a huge upset against France at 15.00 but the handicap market is where my focus is. There is value for me in the USA to cover the +27 handicap at 1.83.

France vs USA Head to Head

France and the USA have only met on seven occasions with the French winning six. USA’s only victory came at the 1924 Olympics. Their last match was in 2004 and France won 39-31 at the Dillion Stadium.

France vs USA Betting Odds

France are favourites at 1.015 which makes them unbackable but brings the handicap market into play. France can be backed at 2.00 to cover the -27 handicap and France -37 is valued at 3.75.

The USA are massive underdogs at 15.00 but their handicaps look very attractive. To cover the +27 handicap they are valued at 1.83 and USA +28 will pay 1.62.

France vs USA Match Up

With the weather around Fukuoka City means this will be a match-up between the forwards. The USA are very physical and could cause the French problems at set pieces and in collision areas. The tactical kicking game from both sides will be key.
France will look to long-serving number eight Louis Picamoles for inspiration as he captains his country for the first time against the United States in the World Cup’s ‘group of death’.

Les Bleus squeaked home 23-21 against Argentina in their first match and are hoping to press their advantage in the ultra-competitive Pool C, which also includes England, who beat the United States 45-7.

Coach Jacques Brunel has rung the chances for the clash in Fukuoka, on the southwestern tip of Japan, with only three players surviving from the nail-biting win over the Pumas.

Fly-half Camille Lopez, whose drop goal broke Pumas hearts, starts at 10, preferred this time to young gun Romain Ntamack.

Fresh from a 10-day break after the Argentina game, France have only four days to recover from playing the Eagles before facing a highly physical Tongan XV – not to mention the potential pool decider against eternal enemy England.

The United States put up respectable resistance to Eddie Jones’ powerful side in the opening game but coach Gary Gold was furious with his players, calling on them to improve “every aspect of their game” after the 45-7 defeat.

He has made five changes to the XV that started against England — the majority of them enforced by injury or suspension.

John Quill, who received the tournament’s first red card and was later suspended, has been replaced by Hanco Germishuys.

And Eric Fry has been picked in place of David Ainu’u, who left the World Cup after sustaining a bad ankle injury.

After fears the game could be rescheduled due to a typhoon bearing down on Japan, World Rugby confirmed on Monday the match would go ahead as planned as the storm is weakening and passing to the north.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup is less than a fortnight old and yet we’ve already witnessed more than our fair share of memorable moments. Hosts Japan shocking Ireland, Wales overpowering Australia and that intense match up between New Zealand and South Africa being just some of the awesome highlights.

It’s certainly fitting its billing as being one of the most even;y-matched tournaments in rugby union history. You can watch all the action, no matter where you are, by following our Rugby World Cup live stream guide below.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of tipsters are split between New Zealand, their neighbours Australia, and South Africa as to who will win the tournament.

2019 RUGBY WORLD CUP – WHERE AND WHEN
The 2019 Rugby World Cup kicked off on Friday, September 20 at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Chōfu, Tokyo when hosts Japan took on Russia. The tournament is set to end with the final on November 2 at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Nevertheless, the balance of power in the rugby world has shifted towards the northern hemisphere in recent years, with Wales, Ireland, and England all having been in and around the world number one ranking position, and Scotland not too far behind.

Or is this the year that one of the less fashionable nations step up and show what they can do? We all know how dangerous Argentina are, but what of Fiji, Georgia and the hosts themselves?

If you want to know where you’ll be able to watch every single match, we’ll tell you exactly where you can catch it online with a Rugby World Cup live stream and the broadcasters that are showing it absolutely FREE.

Bryce Campbell and Mike Teo have been named to replace the injured pair of Paul Lasike and Will Hooley.

France will wear black armbands in honour of former president Jacques Chirac, who died on Thursday.

USA vs France Live

USA vs France Live :: France and the United States play their second match of the Rugby World Cup in Pool C and a nearby typhoon is likely to make for wet and wild conditions at the Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium.

Watch Rugby World Cup 2019 Live

England top their pool with a maximum 10 points and France would take a giant step towards a ninth successive World Cup quarterfinal appearance should they record a bonus-point win over the USA as expected.

Despite winning their opening game 23-21 against Argentina, France have made a whopping 12 changes to their starting XV after only just avoiding defeat with Pumas fullback Emiliano Boffelli missing a last-minute penalty. Camille Lopez, who landed the match-winning drop goal, comes in at first five-eighth.

Tottenham had finished runners-up to Liverpool in Champions League last season, but their domestic form has been worrying since the turn of the year. Spurs kicked off this season’s Group B campaign with a draw at Olympiakos and Mauricio Pochettino wants his team to register their first win against leaders Bayern, whom they visit in the reverse fixture in their final group game in December.

“Last season we would have all signed up for the same campaign in the Champions League,” the Argentine told reporters on Monday. “I hope to win tomorrow to be in a better position than last season. Last season we only had one point after three games.

“Nobody believed in us, but we went on to reach the final of the Champions League. That is why in football it’s important how you start, but it’s more important how you finish. In a long season you need to be calm and strong in your mentality.”

Pochettino pointed out that he had turned Spurs into Champions League regulars, with the club in their fourth consecutive season in the competition despite operating on a smaller budget than their main rivals in England and Europe.

Spurs will remain without the services of Giovani Lo Celso due to a hip problem, while Ryan Sessegnon is still out of action with a hamstring issue. There were fears over Son Heung-min after the attacker was replaced in the second half of Saturday’s clash with Southampton, but the 27-year-old should be fit for Tuesday’s clash.

As for Bayern, Leon Goretzka and Jann-Fiete Arp are both sidelined through injury, while Ivan Perisic is a doubt after missing the clash with Paderborn through illness.

What time is kick-off?

The game will kick-off at 12:30am IST on October 2. There are eight Champions League games tonight with two of them in the early 10.30pm slot and six that will start at 12:30 am on October 2.

What TV channel is it on?

Sony will show every game from the Champions League LIVE in India this season. Tottenham Hotspur vs Bayern Munich will be LIVE on Sony Six SD and HD on Tuesday night.

Tottenham: Spurs were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Colchester less than a week ago, and getting a victory here will be a much tougher task. Spurs haven’t been as prolific in goal as we are used to, but the concerns are more about holding onto the leads. The blew a 2-0 lead at Olympiacos, followed that up with losing to Leicester after going up 1-0, and then came the loss to Rochdale. A 2-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday gives them a little bit of momentum, but this team needs to keep things simple and play with more patience.

Bayern Munich: Their road form entering this one is superb. Bayern won at Paderborn 3-2 on Saturday, went to Leipzig and got a draw in mid September and also have a 3-0 win at Schalke this season. That confidence on the road has been huge for their undefeated start. We’ve seen Spurs struggle at home, especially against talented teams in Europe, so don’t be surprised to see Bayern build a comfortable lead and take the three points.

Tottenham will face Bayern for the first time in the Champions League when they host the German champions on Tuesday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have pieced together an unsettled run of results, and are yet to find their rhythm in all competitions this season, though a 2-1 win over Southampton should give cause for optimism.

Who will win? RadioTimes.com says…
Lewandowski in his current form means they have to be considered favourites in every game they play, but they haven’t been wholly convincing so far.

The Bundesliga’s bottom side Paderborn managed to crack through Niko Kovac’s side twice as the reigning champions failed to kill the game off with ease, though they did eventually triumph.

Spurs have endured some shocking results lately – none more so than their 0-0 draw and penalty defeat to Colchester – but they relish the big European nights, as proven time and again over the last two seasons.

Harry Kane’s persistent form (at least a goal or assist in his last seven games for club and country) has been masked by headlines about Spurs’ squad issues, but he will hope to match Lewandowski step-for-step on the night.

Man City vs Dinamo Zagreb Live

Man City vs Dinamo Zagreb Live :: Manchester City resume Champions League duties this evening as Dinamo Zagreb head to the Etihad. Manchester City started their group stage action off right against Shakhtar Donetsk two weeks ago. Man City didn’t even let Shakhtar Donetsk onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory. City will have a six-point leg up on Shakhtar Donetsk if they win again.

Pep Guardiola’s side won their opening group match 3-0 at Shakhtar Donetsk, and the Catalan coach is determined to finally land the European Cup at City after being frustrated numerous times.

Guardiola is balancing his squad between European duties and attempting to reel in Premier League pace-setters Liverpool, which means the likes of Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva should feature against Dinamo.
Manchester City will return to Champions League action on Tuesday when they welcome Dinamo Zagreb to the Etihad Stadium.

City’s European campaign got off to a perfect start as they stormed to a 3-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk last time out, and they will certainly be eager to pick up a similar result here.

As for Dinamo, they were one of the surprise packages from the first matchday, having stormed to a shock 4-0 win over Atalanta. They will be up for a challenge against City.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
This will be Manchester City’s first encounter with Dinamo Zagreb in European competition and their first ever such meeting with a Croatian side.

Dinamo Zagreb have never won away from home against English teams in all competitions in Europe, losing five of their seven trips to England (D2).

Manchester City have won their last four Champions League home games by an aggregate score of 19-4; they’ve never won five in a row in the competition. Indeed, City have lost only one of their last 11 home group stage matches (W9 D1 L1).

Dinamo Zagreb are winless in their last 15 Champions League away matches (D2 L13), losing each of the last 12. No side has ever lost 13 consecutive away games in the Champions League (Spartak Moscow also lost 12 between October 2000 and October 2006).

Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk was Pep Guardiola’s 30th managerial UEFA Champions League win by three or more goals – only Carlo Ancelotti (32 wins)
has more by that margin in the history of the competition.

Dinamo Zagreb ended a run of 11 consecutive Champions League losses with victory over Atalanta on MD1, only once have they won in successive games in the competition (back-to-back wins in November 1998).

Pep Guardiola says it will not be a disaster with Manchester City’s hierarchy if he does not win the Champions League this season.
Charlie’s prediction
We had a chuckle at the weekend about this. Pep Guardiola was resting Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Bernardo Silva, yet they still got the job done away at Everton. Aguero is his No 9 but Gabriel Jesus has found a bit of form. It was a tricky game – Manchester City never get it easy there. It was no surprise Raheem Sterling started, and he got himself on the scoresheet once again. Phil Foden needs more game-time, but the two Silvas and Aguero can come back in. He may try something defensively – Fernandinho may not be able to play three games in a week. I would not be surprised if it was a Champions League hat-trick for Aguero but Guardiola could make five or six changes and throw other people in that have something to show and prove.
Manchester City’s quest for a maiden Champions League crown continues on Tuesday night when they host Dinamo Zagreb at the Etihad Stadium exclusively on BT Sport.

Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala are both playing really well, especially together. That’s a dangerous combination that Leverkusen may not be able to handle. Expect plenty of balls wide and for Ronaldo to battle with Jonathan Tah all night long.

Bayer Leverkusen: Well, they at least responded well to that loss on Matchday 1. They’ve beaten Union Berlin and Ausburg since, while not conceding a goal. They’ll need to be even better here ahead of a brutal stretch that includes RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and Atletico Madrid all coming after this one.
Juventus will host Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen in Turin on Tuesday in the second matchday of the UEFA Champions League 2019, with both sides looking for their first win of the campaign.

The Italian Champions had squandered a 2-nil advantage in the opener against Atletico Madrid with just 20 minutes left on the clock, and Maurizio Sarri will want more concentration from his side in what could prove to be a tricky encounter.

Bayer Leverkusen sits a point off the top spot in the Bundesliga and will fancy their chances of causing problems despite a shock home defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow last time out.

Juve have won all three of their matches since the draw against Atletico Madrid, including a 2-0 triumph over SPAL on Saturday. But they may have one eye on next weekend’s top-of-the-table showdown with Inter Milan, who lead Serie A points table with six wins from six under Antonio Conte.

But the side remains plagued with injury concerns and will have a number of absentees in Tuesday’s encounter. Although Champions League top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to play after returning from a minor thigh injury at the weekend, Sarri will be without long-term absentees Giorgio Chiellini and Mattia Perin. Mattia De Sciglio, Douglas Costa and Danilo are also unlikely to feature.

Leverkusen, on the other hand, will be without key forward Leon Bailey, who has not played since suffering a muscle injury during the matchday one defeat to Lokomotiv.

For 60 or so minutes against Atlético Madrid two weeks ago, it was all going according to plan. Juve were up 2-0, they were keeping a talented-yet-still-a-work-in-progress Atléti side relatively quiet and, maybe most important of all, they were on their way to putting together their most complete performance outside of the first half against Napoli to date.

Then, a lot like against Napoli, it all fell apart.

RELATED

Sarri: Juve must improve speed of play and finishing
The second-half collapse is why Juventus enters Tuesday night’s Champions League group stage game with Bayer Leverkusen at Allianz Stadium with all of one point and looking up at Lokomotiv Moscow rather than sharing the top spot in Group D with the Russian side. That result, all of two weeks ago in Spain, is one of the biggest examples of just how turbulent the early-season adaptation to Maurizio Sarri’s system can be from time to time.

But based on the last time we saw Juventus, things looked a lot better than what we saw in the latter stages of the group stage opener against Atlético Madrid. Instead of late-game stumbling and defensive breakdowns, Juve’s 2-0 win over SPAL was one of the more complete efforts we’ve seen from Sarri’s side this season. The offense created plenty of chances. The defense pretty much gave Gigi Buffon the afternoon off. And, when it was all over, you might have been left wondering what the final score would have been if not for the heroics in goal of a certain Etrit Berisha. (Hint: probably a lot to very little, if anything.)

The optimistic viewpoint is that Juve is on the right track.

The pessimistic viewpoint is that Juve was playing a relegation battler and Bayer Leverkusen is going to be a much, much different kind of animal.

Both can certainly be true — and that’s perfectly OK.

While Leverkusen aren’t lighting up the Bundesliga at the moment as they sit in sixth place, they are going to be the best side that Juve will have faced since playing Atléti two weeks ago. Between then and now it’s been a trio of Serie A clubs who most folks believe will be in the bottom half of the league table when the season is entering the home stretch. That’s not exactly what you would call a challenge three-game stretch no matter how well (or not) each of those three have started out the season.

But what it has provided Juventus — and Sarri — is a quality stretch of fixtures where there can be both some kind of squad rotation, tactical experimentation as well as continued adaption to their new manager’s system. And while there had to be a couple of comeback wins along the way, do we think that Juventus is a better team now as compared to when it was entering its Champions League opener a couple of weeks ago?

I guess we’re about to truly find out.

That’s the big hope entering the second game of the group stage.

Juventus, because of its draw with Atlético Madrid, are now looking to jump into first place with a win rather than trying to take complete control of Group D after just two games. That’s just what happens when you cough up a 2-0 lead when you shouldn’t have done that in your first group stage game.

And if Juve keep the lead 2-0 like they did against SPAL rather than how it was against Atléti, then there’s probably going to be more positive vibes heading into this weekend’s Derby d’Italia rather than a whole lot of grumbling like what we saw the last time the Bianconeri played a European
Juventus are yet to lose a game this season, but are still second in Italy’s Serie A behind Inter Milan despite three consecutive league victories over minnows Verona, Brescia and SPAL. Ronaldo missed the second of those games with a thigh injury, but the Champions League’s all-time top scorer did strike in the other two. The Portugal international failed to score in the Old Lady’s opening group game against Atletico Madrid as the Italian champions threw away a two-goal lead in Spain and had to settle for a point in Group D, however. There are a number of big names missing from Maurizio Sarri’s European squad, including former Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can and Mario Mandzukic, who won the Champions League as part of a treble with Bayern Munich in 2013. Captain Georgio Chiellini is a long-term absentee with a cruciate ligament tear, while former Bayern winger Douglas Costa is doubtful with a thigh strain.

Leverkusen have bounced back from consecutive defeats to Borussia Dortmund and Lokomotiv Moscow to claim confidence-boosting victories against Union Berlin and Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Havertz was one of the goalscorers in the 3-0 win over the latter on Saturday, also setting up top scorer Kevin Volland for the second of the afternoon. The 20-year-old is yet to open his Champions League account in four career appearances, but has 19 in his last 40 Bundesliga games as he approaches 100 matches in the German top flight. Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last five away Champions League outings stretching back to 2015, but head to Turin without their Jamaican wing wizard Leon Bailey because of a torn muscle he suffered in the loss to

PSG vs Galatasaray Live :: The good news for PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is that French rising star Kylian Mbappe has overcome his injury. Galatasaray, on the other hand, did well to hold Club Brugge to a draw at Jan Breydelstadion in their opener, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the big-spending French champions. Kylian Mbappe is likely to help les Parisiens improve offensively and his return to the starting line-up is the main reason why we are going to put our money on Thomas Tuchel’s team.
